Testing Methodology

Why Standardized Testing Matters
There are many image hosting services available, but most reviews rely on subjective impressions. LPIC.cc has established a repeatable, verifiable standardized testing process to ensure every review article's conclusions are backed by data.
Testing Environment
All tests are conducted in the following standardized environment:
- Test locations: Taiwan (Taipei), Japan (Tokyo), USA (Los Angeles) — three VPS locations
- Network: 100Mbps symmetric bandwidth, eliminating network bottlenecks
- Test assets: 10 standardized test images (various resolutions and color complexity)
- Browser: Latest stable Chrome, cache cleared before each test
- Repetitions: Each test repeated at least 3 times, averaged
Evaluation Dimensions
Upload Speed
Timing from click-to-upload to link generation. Using standard test images (1MB / 5MB / 10MB each), each repeated 3 times and averaged.
Compression Quality
Comparing original vs. platform-compressed file sizes. Using SSIM (Structural Similarity Index) to quantify quality loss. SSIM above 0.95 is considered imperceptible quality loss.
Global Load Speed
Measuring first load time (TTFB + full download) from Taiwan, Japan, and USA. Evaluating CDN distribution effectiveness.
EXIF Privacy Handling
Uploading test images with full EXIF data, then downloading and checking field-by-field whether GPS coordinates, device info, and capture time are preserved.
Link Stability
Continuously monitoring uploaded image link availability, recording HTTP status codes. Automated daily checks with a minimum 30-day tracking period.
Feature Completeness
Evaluating password protection, batch upload, API support, direct link sharing, custom expiration, and other features for availability and usability.
Scoring Criteria
Each dimension is scored 1-10, with the overall score being a weighted average. Weights: Upload Speed 15%, Compression Quality 20%, Global Load Speed 20%, EXIF Handling 15%, Link Stability 20%, Feature Completeness 10%.
Data Transparency
All raw test data is presented in tables within articles. Readers can reinterpret the data based on their own needs without relying solely on our overall scores.
